Who provides these services?

The therapists are all professional counselors, who are licensed to practice in the state that they work in. They are part of a network of professionals in many different fields who give online and phone advice through Kasamba. Kasamba provides connectivity, billing, and marketing for these services. Phone-Counseling.org is an affiliate of Kasamba. 

How do I begin an online chat session with a therapist?

To enter a Live Chat session, click on the “Contact Live” button that is located next to the expert of your choice. If you are already registered as a member at Kasamba, please sign in. If you are not a member yet, please register: it’s simple and there`s no obligation. Kasamba will ask you to accept their legal agreement and submit your billing information. Your card will not be charged at this stage.

Click on the “Start Session” button to open up the Kasamba Communication Center. You will not have to download any software in order to chat live. Please wait a few seconds for the expert to respond. The session begins in free mode. You can click on the “Hire Expert” button when you are ready to begin the paid session. To quit, simply click the “Quit Session” button.

If the expert is unavailable, the following message appears: `Sorry! This expert is not available at this time`. If you wish, you can send the expert an email inquiry by clicking the blue “start an E-mail Session” icon.
Once I make the call, do I start getting billed immediately?

No. After you are connected, you’ll have time to speak with your expert – at no cost – to get a sense of if they are the right person to meet your needs. Once you’re confident of their ability to assist you, simply press the star key on the lower left corner of your phone’s keypad, or click the ‘Hire’ button in the Session Window to begin a paid session with your expert.

Note that closing the main Session Window will automatically end your entire session. Should you or your expert hang up the phone, a pop up will appear asking if you’d like to continue the session via Phone, Live Chat, or to end the session completely. If you would like to reconnect to your expert via Phone, you will be provided with the same 800 number and access code as before. To continue via Live Chat, simply switch to the Chat tab of the Kasamba Communication Center. If you’d like to end your session, click the ‘Quit’ button.

When you are ready to end a session while still connected to your expert, you can do so by simply clicking the “Quit Session” button on the Session Window.

What are the available payment options?

Kasamba offers the following payment options:

Credit Card: All major credit cards are accepted and can be safely submitted via our secure server.

Kasamba Account: The Kasamba account enables you to pay for Kasamba services without using your credit card. Use it to keep track of your Kasamba budget and plan for future sessions. You can transfer funds into your Kasamba account using Paypal, ACTeCASH, or Check. Paypal and ACTeCASH allow you to use credit cards, and bank accounts to transfer funds.

What part of the live session will I pay for?

You only pay for the minutes of Live Chat between the time you clicked “Hire Expert” and the time either you or the expert clicked the “Quit Session” button. The length of the paid session is indicated by a timer that is located at the bottom of the communication center (the chat window). Parts of a minute are rounded up to a full minute. Once you click “Quit Session” and depending on your initial selection, the session fee will either be charged to your credit card or deducted from your Kasamba account.
